This Privacy Policy explains how Upstate Events (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit upstateevents.co (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address. When you submit an event we collect the event details you enter and the email address you provide so we can follow up about your submission.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically receive information from your browser and device when you visit, including IP address, device and browser type, referring page, pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate location derived from IP. This information is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To send the newsletter and respond to event submissions you send us.
- To measure traffic, understand which content is useful, and debug problems.
- To run, measure, and optimize advertising on third-party platforms (including Meta and Google).
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each of which may set cookies or receive information about your visit:
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for site analytics and tag management.
- PostHog for product analytics, including event-level usage data and session information.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) for advertising measurement and audience targeting when ads are running.
- Hosting and email providers we use to deliver the Site and the newsletter.

Cookies and tracking

- Newsletter: every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
- Access, correction, deletion: contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
- Do Not Track: our Site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
Data retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to operate the Site and the newsletter, comply with our legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no service is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
